Vader allegedly obstructed justice by convincing the complainant in a domestic assault not to testify against him.
Vader, 43, is also charged with two breaches of his release conditions, including not to have contact with the complainant in the assault case.
Vader is currently awaiting trial for the murders of St. Albert seniors Lyle and Marie McCann in the summer of 2010. Vader was released on bail in connection with those charges in Dec. 2014. He is slated to go to trial this spring.
Since his release on bail on the first-degree murder charges, Vader has been in and out of custody on a number of other charges, including an alleged assault on his mother’s boyfriend, dangerous driving and breaches.
He was arrested June 13 and charged with two counts of assault for alleged domestic assaults against a female in the Barrhead area in April and June.
He was released on bail on those charges Oct. 20, the fourth time he had been released on bail since December.
Alberta Justice spokeswoman Michelle Davio said the new charges allege Vader attempted to obstruct justice by contacting the alleged victim of the assault charges and "trying to convince her not to provide evidence in trial and drop criminal charges."
